Bank of America is a criminal organization.

I wrote my daughter a $300 check from my business account.

She deposited said check into her ATM at Bank of America.

Check was dated Saturday, July 8th 2017 and cleared my bank on Monday, July 10th 2017.

Bank of America put a ten (10) day hold on that local check deposited into a local branch.

When she called them they claimed there was a problem with the check from my bank even though we had my bank on the phone at the same time verifying there wasn’t any problem with my account and that the check had already cleared on July 10th and we have the computer bank images of the cleared check.

This was an outright lie.

Bank of America is a criminal organization.

They have the $300 dollars and want to earn the interest for the ten days they hold the money in their account during those 10 days.

I’m amazed in this day and age of instant computer transfer and transactions that this criminal organization is getting away with this stone age banking technique to earn interest  money on the float.

Shaking my head.

And these morons at Bank of America wonder why Amscot does so well.

BECAUSE AT LEAST WE KNOW UP FRONT WITH AMSCOT WE’RE GETTING SCREWED AND THEY DON’T TRY AND HIDE IT!

EDIT: Through some research we found out this is a common practice with Bank of America. Their hope is the 10 day hold will cause other checks to bounce and they then charge a $35 bounced check fee per check.

I'll say it again.

Bank of America is a criminal organization.
